Blue Mosque, Istanbul

On the other side of Europe we have another monumental prayer house. The Sultan Ahmed Mosque, also known as the Blue Mosque , is a historic mosque in Istanbul, Turkey. Built in the early 1600s during the rule of the Ottoman Empire, the mosque is considered one of the finest examples of Ottoman architecture and is a major tourist attraction in Istanbul. The mosque has six minarets and a large central dome, and is decorated with blue Iznik tiles.

The Blue Mosque was built at a time when the Ottoman Empire was at the height of its power and influence. The grandeur of the mosque reflects this period of prosperity and strength. Today, the Blue Mosque remains an important symbol of Islamic culture and architecture, and continues to be visited by tourists from around the world.

Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco

The Golden Gate Bridge is one of the most recognizable bridges in the world! The suspension bridge spans the Golden Gate Strait, the 1.6 km wide and 2.7 km long channel that connects San Francisco Bay to the Pacific Ocean. The structure connects the US city of San Francisco, California - the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula - with Marin County, carrying both US Route 101 and California State Route 1 across the strait. The Golden Gate Bridge was the longest suspension bridge in the world when it was completed in 1933, and has become an internationally recognized symbol of San Francisco and California. River Seine, Paris

The Seine is one of the most iconic rivers in the world, and it flows through the heart of Paris. For centuries, the river has been an important transportation route, and today the river is an important part of city life.
