Square 1944 '55

On this print you see Plein 1944 in Nijmegen. This square was created after the bombing of February 22, 1944 when American planes bombed the city center of Nijmegen because they thought they were flying over Germany. When the square was rebuilt, it was decided that the square would have a recreational function.
